Glossy Ibis - Summer Leys Reserve

Photographing the Glossy Ibis at Summer Leys is an unforgettable experience. With its shimmering plumage and graceful presence, it feels like a rare treasure in the UK. In this video, I share a special encounter with this striking bird, a moment that made every frame feel truly rewarding.

  • Little Owls Calling

Photographing the little owl is always a joy. With its bold stance, piercing yellow eyes, and curious nature, it brings real character to every image. Often seen at dusk on old branches or farm buildings, each encounter is always different and very rewarding.

  • Golden Plover North Pennines.jpg

    Golden Plover of the Moors

Spotting the Golden Plover on the moor can be quite a challenge. These elusive birds are masters of camouflage, blending seamlessly with the heather-covered landscape. More often than not, it's their distinctive calls that give away their presence.

  • Fox Chilling out in the frost

This fox decided to spend a frosty morning simply chilling out. It was so calm and unbothered by the cold, and I really enjoyed being able to watch and photograph such a peaceful side of its nature.

  • Badger April 2022.jpg

    Foraging Badger

Around late April, early May, depending on the weather, badgers start to appear from the set when there is still light available for photography. This dominant male of the badger clan was out regularly foraging for food just meters away from me.

    Red Squirrels

Little Owls is an owl I truly love to photograph. Their charismatic behaviour makes them a favourite with all photographers and I’ve had great pleasure photography them at several sites over the years. This is one quick story of a local pair to me, sadly no longer around.
